Lakeridge Cottages is located in northern Redding west of Interstate 5 and south of Lake Boulevard. The site consists of 4.9 acres of sloping land surrounded by single family residenses and commercial land uses.

Lakeridge Cottages is a planned community consisting of 43 single family detached homes arranged around common motor courts. This motor court configuration reduces driveway entrances onto the public road and minimizes the effects of garage doors on the street scene. Homes are designed by Bloodgood Sharp Buster in complementary architectural styles that add to the diversity and character of the community. Exterior materials include stucco, siding, shingle and stone in professionally designed color palettes for a cohesive and attractive appearance. Units facing the public road have front doors oriented to the street for a more pedestrian feel.

Each cluster is softened from neighboring units by a grade change and vegetated buffer. This buffer and elevation difference will provide residents with a greater feeling of privacy not typically associated with higher density single family projects. Ample street tree plantings and parkway planters will greatly enhance privacy and soften the street scene creating a more pedestrian friendly environment.

The plan offers open space and recreational amenities in the form of an enhanced entry to the community.
